Stephane Etroy has been Executive Vice-President and Head of Private Equity since April 2017. In this role he manages CDPQ’s global private equity teams. Over half of the institution’s private equity assets are invested outside Canada, covering a broad industry spectrum and various transaction types. The group that he supervises has extensive experience both as a direct investor in companies and as a partner in investment funds. Mr. Etroy is also responsible for the London office and is a member of CDPQ’s Executive Committee and Investment-Risk Committee.

Mr. Etroy has 16 years of experience in the private equity market. With CDPQ since September 2015, he began as Senior Vice-President and Co-Head of Direct Investments, in addition to Head of Europe Private Equity. Before joining the institution, he was an Investment Manager and later a Partner at Charterhouse Capital Partners LLP, in London. He began his career in investment banking and then private equity at Morgan Stanley in London. He has a Master of Science (M. Sc.) with a major in finance, from HEC Paris.

Charles R. Kaye, Co-Chief Executive Officer, has been with Warburg Pincus since 1986 and has been jointly responsible for the management of the firm since 2000. Mr. Kaye lived in Hong Kong from 1994 to 1999, where he was instrumental in the launch and development of Warburg Pincus’ Asia operations.

Mr. Kaye is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and co-chairman of the Partnership Fund for New York City and the International Advisory Board of the Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI). He currently serves on the Board of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, as an investment committee member of Sheridan Production Partners, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees of New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

Janice Topp is a partner at HOOPP Capital Partners, the team responsible for private capital investing activities on behalf of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan. Prior to joining HOOPP Capital Partners, she gained 7 years of experience in direct mid-market private equity investing as Senior Vice-President of a Canadian private equity firm. Her responsibilities included being part of the investment approval process, acquisition analysis, due diligence, transaction negotiation and documentation and financing. Janice has held positions of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer in two multibillion dollar companies since 1996; one being a wealth management company with assets in excess of $30 billion at the time of its sale in 2005 and the second being a leading Canadian property investment and real estate merchant banking operation that was traded on the TSX. She completed her Chartered Professional Accountants designation in 1987 (medalist) with Ernst & Young and is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.
